I picked up the damn thing and realised it was false. I ended up going the the C drive and then program files and right clicking to delete the folder. It would not allow it so I went into four files in the XP Police program folder and deleted them one by one deleting the exe file last. All the other files would delete except the exe one. The screen started to go awol with pop ups and I eventually went to the task manager and there was a file for expolice.exe which I disabled. Once I took it off the list in task manager that enabled me to delete the exe file from the program files. Clear as mud I know but it has gone now, I hope.

Got infected a couple of days ago. What a pain in the rear. Task manager was disabled. Started windows in safe mode. Did a system restore. Bingo all trace gone. Good Luck.

Click Start -> Run. Type in “regedit” (no quotes) and hit Enter.

Search for HKEY_CURRENT_USER -> Software \ Microsoft \ Windows \ CurrentVersion \ Policies \ System.

Look for: DisableTaskMgr. Click on REG_DWORD. Value: 1=Enable this key (disables TaskManager); Value: 0=Disable (actually enables TaskManager)

Close RegEdit

Reboot your machine.

That will get your task manager back. Then use avg and malware bytes to clean the rest. That cleared it out for me

I got it and pretty much figured it was a virus just because it seems fake, and I didn’t download it it automatically downloaded itself. But I went into my computer and right clicked on program files and opened properties and the files and folders were increasing dramatically? Is this fake or is that ACTUALLY happening?

I got it too…they are very cleaver. Blocked Firefox from downloading this remover from the infected computer. Blocked IE completely. Blocked task manager…
